Well, it's been about one day, and as of the time of this writing, we have 242 signatures. This is good for a first day, but we will still need to ramp up production if we want to make noise. The deal ends in 2026, with some sources claiming that a deal could be made between 12-18 months from now. If we gained 242 signatures every day for 15 months, it would equate to around 110,352 signatures, which is a very small drop in both the NFL's and Madden's audience. The good news is, we have time to gain traction, but like I said last time, we need to spread this as far as we can, whether it be through Twitter, Reddit, or any social media platform. I posted these two things last time, but it's a good reminder to do it again:
• Spread The Word: Like I said above, we need to create a huge outcry in order to grow this cause. Post this on Twitter, Reddit, Facebook, or any social media website you can think of that will help this petition grow. Contact your friends, family, neighbors, colleagues, or whoever you think may be interested in this. Email or mail the NFL and NFLPA! If, hypothetically, we got around 3 million signees, that would be more than double than the largest petition victory in 2023 on this website.
• DO NOT BUY THE GAMES: This is one of, if not the most important aspect of this petition. We cannot give Electronic Arts any money, whether it be through spending on Madden Ultimate Team, or even playing an entirely different game made by EA. Money is money, and EA will take it up, no matter what you buy from them, or who you say you are. According to this article, EA's profit for fiscal 2024 was around $182 million. If those 3 million signees I mentioned earlier also boycotted their games, which cost $70 a piece, we would cancel out those profits, and even give them a loss of around $28 million. If we spread this petition, we need to emphasize the boycotting aspect of it, no matter what other people say.
I plan on doing these every time we reach a milestone (50 signatures in 3 hours, 200 in 1 day, etc.). Thank you to all that have signed this petition, and even though the odds may seem slim of the NFL backing out, it's still possible.
