Urge the Dutch Government to End Monkey Experiments
The Issue
At the Biomedical Primate Research Center (BPRC) the Netherlands, Europe's largest primate laboratory and breeding center, collaborating with researchers in the UK, Stressed monkeys are crudely tattooed, left prone to injuries as a result of drugging, placed in restraint cages, infected with debilitating and deadly diseases. They suffer adverse effects such as severe fever, anorexia, vomiting, internal bleeding, respiratory distress, weight loss and organ failure before being killed in full view of their cage mates when they are no longer of use.
Abused Monkeys in experiments are bred in the laboratory, or captured in the wild in countries such as the island of Mauritius. Babies born in laboratories are usually within three days of birth forcibly torn from their screaming mothers and permanently separated from them. In order to abduct primates from their homes in the wild, trappers often shoot mothers from trees, stun the animals with dart guns, and then capture the babies, who cling, panic-stricken, to their mothers’ bodies. Animals can feel pain, have emotion, and interact in similar fashions as human beings, While it is well known that Monkeys are sensitive and intelligent beings, experimenters treat them as if they were disposable pieces of laboratory equipment.
Help end the suffering of monkeys in cruel experiments by signing and sharing the petition. With your help, we can end the needless suffering of the thousands of monkeys enduring unspeakable horrors in the laboratory. You're helping give monkeys the voices they don't have. Thank you
