Like so many of you, I was deeply moved by the recent exposé documentary of the cheerleading industry. The reality they face is less than cheery; it is a stark reminder of pay inequality in our society. These talented, dedicated women, contribute largely to the spirit and energy of the games, yet their earnings do not mirror their herculean efforts. It's 2024, and fair wage remains an elusive dream for them. 

Studies have found that on average, NFL cheerleaders earn between $75 to $150 per game, and unpaid hours of rigorous rehearsals and mandatory charity events take this hourly rate below the federal minimum wage (Source: Business Insider). Yet the NFL, a multi-billion dollar industry, claims they can't afford fair pay. This is more than just about football, it's about inequality and financial insecurity that women continue to face.

No woman should have to decide between their dreams and financial security. Therefore, we call upon the Dallas Cowboys, a team prided upon its Texas-sized spirit, to be the beacon of change. Set a precedent by valuing your cheerleaders with a fair, livable wage. Their talent, dedication, and contribution deserve no less.
