As a 35-year supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, I have witnessed many ups and downs. However, the recent performance of our team and specifically our quarterback, Dak Prescott, has left me and our fanbase heartbroken. The time has come for us to move in a new direction, starting with a new quarterback.

The Dallas Cowboys are one of America's most iconic football teams with a rich history dating back to 1960. We've had legendary quarterbacks like Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman who led us to multiple Super Bowl victories. Yet in recent years, we've struggled under Dak Prescott's leadership and post season shortcomings.

Since becoming the starting quarterback in 2016, Prescott has led us to only two playoff victories with no advancement beyond the Divisional Round (source: NFL.com). Despite his individual statistics being impressive on paper, they have not translated into consistent team success or deep playoff runs that we as fans crave and deserve.

In our most recent playoff blunder, we were down by more than 20 points before our offense showed a pulse. After 2 interceptions, (with one being a pick-6) and zero passing yards in the 1st quarter, we finally got on the board before halftime. We never recovered from the deficit. As usual, Dak went on to pad garbage-time stats and give the illusion of a more competitive game, but it was over before halftime. This game was after the last two years of playoff exits that were largely considered primarily the fault of #4 under center.  Though Dak is not the only they deserves blame, he does play the most impactful position in all of sports, QB. Additionally, he plays for the biggest brand in all of sports, America's Team, a brand that our fans have made the wealthiest team in the world. We should have a voice in who's under center. This is an opportunity for us to be heard!

We understand that football is a team sport and it isn't fair to place all blame on one player. However, as franchise quarterback - arguably the most critical position in American football - much responsibility falls upon Dak Prescott.

By not extending his contract as franchise quarterback, we can invest resources into finding fresh talent who can lead us back towards glory days reminiscent of Staubach or Aikman era, and avoid making an already rich, underachieving QB the wealthiest QB in the NFL next season. 

This petition isn't just about changing quarterbacks; it's about restoring pride and faith in our beloved team among our Cowboy Nation. It's time for change at the QB position for Dallas Cowboys!
