We are calling on everyone in our prosperous nation to challenge the current Labour government's pursuit of a net zero policy, a goal that is costing taxpayers billions of pounds that could be better utilized elsewhere. This considerable expenditure is neither requested by, nor desired by the majority of citizens, particularly when the global commitment to such an objective is inconsistent. Reaching carbon neutrality in isolation will not significantly impact global carbon emissions. According to a 2021 report from the World Resources Institute, the UK is responsible for only 1% of global emissions, indicating that a unilateral net zero strategy is not only costly but also ultimately ineffective if the rest of the world is not on board. We are requesting the government to be pragmatic and socially responsive about climate change policies and spending.
