Urge the city of Portland to revise its warming center policy

The Issue

On February 23, the city of Portland decided not to open the warming center. This decision left people to face the blizzard outside. As a Jesuit community, we are called to ensure that all of our neighbors are treated with kindness, dignity, and decency. The decision to keep the warming center closed was based on valid fiscal concerns, but put many in danger and distress. Please sign this petition to urge the city of Portland to revise its warming center policy to prioritize community members’ safety, comfort, and survival. Thank you.
