As a deeply concerned citizen, I am moved by the plight of people in Palestine. They are humans who need peace, justice, food, shelter, and medical aid. The ongoing conflict has resulted in a humanitarian crisis that cannot be ignored. Innocent women, men and children are victims of war; they deserve life and access to basic necessities like shelter, water and food.

Canada has always been a beacon of hope for refugees and those in need of humanitarian aid. We have opened our doors to many who seek refuge from conflict zones around the world. Now it's time for Canada to stand up for Palestinian human rights.

According to Amnesty International (2020), Palestinians face severe restrictions on their movement due to military checkpoints and roadblocks which significantly impact their access to healthcare facilities, schools or workplaces - this is unacceptable.

We must urge our government not only condemn these actions but also actively work towards peace and safety for Palestinians. It's time we extend our compassion towards the people suffering in Palestine just as we have done so many times before.
