The Issue

The recent Class X Mathematics ( set 2)examination has been a source of immense distress for numerous students. Many have conveyed feelings of extreme stress, discouragement, and mental distress due to the unforeseen complexity of the paper. This situation was exacerbated by several questions that appeared to exceed the prescribed syllabus and the expected competency level for students at this stage.

We, the students and concerned individuals, wish to bring to the Board's attention the pressing need for moderation of the Mathematics question paper. The level of difficulty was significantly higher. As a result, the math examination has seen a widespread sense of confusion and anxiety among students who had prepared earnestly under the impression that the paper would align with the established curriculum.

 An excessively challenging paper can unfairly impact students' performance and put undue emotional and academic pressure on them, affecting their confidence and future prospects. The moderation of the Mathematics paper would serve as a fair corrective measure that respects students' efforts and ensures justice within the educational assessment process.

We urge the Board to recognize the importance of alignment between examination content and the prescribed curriculum for the well-being, motivation, and future success of students. Moderation would help mitigate the negative impact of this experience, assuaging fears and restoring hope among students who strive towards academic excellence.
