Urge the Biya government to respect citizens' voices

Urge the Biya government to respect citizens' voices
The Issue
I am a GenZ Cameroonian, and my entire life has been spent under the oppressive regime of Paul Biya. Under his leadership, our beloved country has been riddled with corruption, nepotism, favoritism, embezzlement, and incompetence. The so-called leaders, who are meant to serve us, treat the Cameroonian people with nonchalance and condescension, and now, they are killing those who dare to demand change.
The legal and judicial systems, instead of safeguarding our rights and freedoms, have become tools of repression. Poverty has taken a hold of our communities, and unemployment is alarmingly high among our youth. Yet despite all these struggles, we came together to vote for change, a different future. However, our voices are being silenced, our votes disregarded, and our protests met with violence.
As Cameroonians, we deserve to have our voices heard and respected. We urge the Biya government to honor the will of the people. We demand they do the honorable thing and step down from power. It’s time to prioritize the interests of the people over personal gain and power.
It is unacceptable for our peaceful protests, our demands for our votes to count, to be met with brutality and bloodshed. The acts of violence against peaceful citizens must cease immediately.
We call on the international community to support us, to put pressure on the Biya regime to respect the democratically expressed will of the Cameroonian people. We ask for a peaceful transition of power and an end to authoritarian rule.
Join us in our fight for democracy, human rights, and justice in Cameroon. Sign this petition today to stand up against oppression and for a brighter future for all Cameroonians. Your signature can make a difference.
