Urge the Australian Government to reform current laws regarding cult groups.

Urge the Australian Government to reform current laws regarding cult groups.
The issue
This Petition of Australian residents draws to the attention to the community’s concern about the growing number of cult groups that currently exist in Australia, and the ease in which they can by-pass laws due to gaping ’loopholes’ within our legislation system. As a result, the current Australian Laws (along with Federal, State, Territory and Local Councils’ legislations) have inadvertently allowed the illegal and harmful activities of cult groups to flourish and remain undetected for decades while exploiting the concept of “freedom of religion” in this country for their own gain.
Australian residents have noticed that the Federal Government has constantly informed the public that their prime priorities have been: Keeping Our Economy Strong - Keeping Australians Safe - Keeping Australians Together. The mantra that is practised by Australian cult groups is in fact, the exact opposite. Cult groups do not support the Australian economy – instead they fleece the public from their money and send their finances abroad to tax-havens. Cult groups do not keep our fellow citizens or visiting tourists safe - instead manipulative cult leaders are often associated with criminal organisations, terrorists, illegal money syndicate operators, fraudulent business/charity practises, human traffickers, paedophile rings, and the Dark Web. Cult groups do not keep Australians together – instead their main aim is totalitarian rule of their followers and the complete destruction of family groups and support networks.
Australian residents hereby call for law reforms which will inhibit the establishment of cult groups and prevent such organisations from coercing others to practise their ideologies and abusive belief systems. Residents propose that the Australian government:
i) include legal clauses in the Religious Discrimination Bill 2019 which inhibit cults groups from being able to engage in illegal activities, business, and/or charities, and establishing their branches within Australia.
ii) make amendments to Section 116 of the Australian Constitution in order to inhibit cult groups from exercising their ‘freedom to abuse’ Australia citizens and visiting tourists.
iii) introduce a National Coercive Control Offence - as has been done in the United Kingdom;
iv) introduce the About-Picard Anti-Cult Law - as has been done in France:
v) establish a specific anti-cult task force similar to the M.I.V.I.L.U.D.E.S Agency of France.
I urge the residents of Australia to support this petition and the Federal Government to make the necessary changes which will not only ensure the safety of our Australian residents today, but also future generations.
