if we all get two more people to sign this petition we'll have reached target!

Thank you for signing our petition to stop Thanet District Council selling the old service depot for Pierremont Park on the open market and urging them to instead talk to Broadstairs Town Council, listen to the community and find a way to keep it in public ownership, so the Town Council and community groups can work together to start using it again to benefit the park and the community as a whole. Your support means the world. 

We need to get 1500 signatures to ensure our voices are heard. We are now at over 500.

If everyone who has signed so far can get two more people to sign it we will have achieved our target! It's that simple. 

We know you have probably already shared the petition with your network and asked them to sign. You may even have very kindly made a contribution to the change.org platform, so that they will promote it and it can be seen by more people. We are so grateful for everyone's efforts and support so far. We can see that it has already been shared 657 times and 30 people have made a financial contribution, which is incredible.  Our community is amazing. 

Please can you have a think about how else you might be able to share it and who else you could send it to? We are now on instagram @friendsofpierremontpark - maybe try sharing our content on there if you haven't already. We are so far getting most signatures from Facebook. More people will see any posts you do about the petition on there if you share your own words and an image in the post and put the link to the petition in a comment. Thast's how the Facebook algorithms work. They deprioritise any posts that contain  links in the post itself.   If you are in a whatsapp group or have a network you can contact via email - can you share the petition link that way? Have your family and neighbours, or your colleagues, all seen it?  

Let's give it a massive push over the next few days! 

Remember the council will likely only consider signatures from people who live in Thanet, even though we know lots of visitors feel as passionately about the park as we do. Please also remember that every email address has to be verified, so if you haven't seen an email from change.org to verify your email, check your spam filter to see if it's there to be sure your signature will be counted. 

Lastly, please come to our public meeting on 6 November, 7-8:30pm at Pierremont Hall. We want to hear everyone's ideas and agree what else we can do together as Friends of Pierremont Park. Now we've all come together over this particular issue it seems there is a real opportunity to seize it as an opportunity to help the park as a whole by ensuring the depot is put to good use in future and we can all get involved, or at least have our say.
