Urge Texas Tech University To Invest In Campus-wide 2 Ply Toilet Paper

The Issue

Campus toilet paper is something everyone comes into contact with: Students, Faculty, Guests, Prospective Students, Alumni, and everyone in between. Especially for those living on campus, the only option is the see-through one-ply toilet paper that is ineffective due to the lack of absorption, width and thickness. In addition, more of the lower ply toilet paper has to be used to make any impact. A higher ply toilet paper would lead to less overall use.

For those with IBD/IBS, increased time in the bathroom is part of their everyday lives. There is an upward trend in people having these conditions or similar conditions that increase the amount of time spent in a bathroom, and time spent with subpar toilet paper. Additionally, everyone on campus benefits from a switch to a higher ply toilet paper in terms of both comfort and cleanliness.

With the new "On & On" fundraising campaign, it is the perfect time to allocate the funds to switch to better toilet paper, especially with one of the foundations centering around "elevating campus". The cost to switch is not exorbitant, and pales in comparison to the scale of the annual budget, along that of this campaign. Working through the Student Government, let's make the switch to two!
