Urge Tennessee to Retaliate Against Canadian Alcohol Import Bans

The Issue

As a proud Tennessean and a firm believer in fair trading practices, I've seen first-hand how the recent actions of numerous Canadian provinces — blocking the sale of American alcohol — have damaged our local economy and created an unfair trade balance. Numerous alcoholic beverage producers in our state have been left with reduced potential markets, thus affecting our revenue and livelihoods.

In particular, Tennessee, a major player in the global alcohol scene, is hit hard by these bans. Yet, in a glaring discrepancy, Canadian alcoholic products – Crown Royal, Canadian Club, Molson, Moosehead, Labatt and numerous others – are freely sold in our state. This unequal trading field not only impacts our local businesses but also fosters a biased market place.

To foster an equal trading environment, we need Tennessee to reciprocate against the Canadian import bans. We are calling for a temporary ban on the sale of Canadian alcoholic products in our state until these Canadian bans are rescinded. Temporary suspension of Canadian products like Crown Royal, Canadian Club, and Labatt's would encourage these provinces to reconsider their stance.

We must stand up for our local producers, businesses, and the overall economy of Tennessee. Fair trading must be a two-way street. Sign this petition to urge our state representatives to impose a temporary ban on Canadian alcoholic imports. This will send a strong message that Tennessee demands fair treatment in all trading agreements. Let's fight for our local economy, Tennessee! Please sign and share this critical petition.
