Urge Temu to Lower their Minimum Purchase Requirements

The Issue

I, along with countless other consumers, am immensely affected by Temu's new policy of a compulsory minimum purchase worth fifteen dollars. This restriction has unnecessarily limited our purchasing power and has had a particularly negative effect on students and part-time workers. For many of us, fifteen dollars is an amount too steep to meet for every purchase. This policy has pushed essential items out of reach for many of us, thus inevitably causing financial strain.

This isn't just about dollars and cents - it's about fair access to necessary products and services. It's about ensuring that consumers, regardless of their economic standing, have the ability to benefit from what Temu has to offer. This current restriction seems to ignore the statistically significant portion of its customer base that includes students and low-income individuals. According to the National Center for Education, in the U.S, more than 19.7 million students enrolled in colleges and universities in fall 2020 (source: National Center for Education Statistics). Consider this in relation to part-time workers; according to the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics, about 25.1 million people worked part-time in 2020 (source: U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics). These are significant figures and it is crucial that these voices are not left unheard.

It's time to ask Temu to reconsider this policy, taking into account the real-world, everyday experiences of its entire customer base. Let's urge Temu to provide an inclusive minimum purchase policy, thereby allowing all customers to participate in commerce without unnecessary financial boundaries.

temu's new policy has a minimum purchase amount of up to fifteen dollars, and this restriction cannot be removed. This is very bad because for students and people doing part-time jobs, fifteen dollars is too expensive for us to purchase. This is a very bad policy.
