Tamworth Council, in a change of decision made by the previous council, has unjustifiably moved the location of a popular street vendor, known as Spudman, causing him considerable upheaval and loss of business. Spudman, beloved in our community for years, has faithfully served customers at his original location. It's also worth noting that small businesses, such as Spudman's, hold significant importance to local economies. According to the Federation of Small Businesses, small entities account for three-fifths of employment and around half of turnover in the UK private sector (2019). As such, their locations on the high street and in the community can be a critical determinant of their success. We, therefore, urge the Tamworth Council to uphold the previous council's decision and promptly reinstate Spudman to his original pitch.
