Urge State Legislatures to Pass a Declaration for a New Constitutional Democracy
The Issue
I am a devoted husband and father, an Eagle Scout, and a US Navy submarine veteran, who has established magnus-opus.xyz out of my deep concern for the future of our nation. I am proud of being a US Citizen and of my family's history across this nations history. My personal journey and commitment to this country's Constitution and the citizens of a constitutional democracy it represents, have led me to the firm belief that our constitutional democracy has been compromised. It is a bold declaration to make but consider this:
THE CONSTITUTION IS FALLEN
LONG LIVE THE CONSTITUTION.
Our nation's Constitution, always a beacon of justice and freedom, is no longer the law of the land. All three branches of our government, as we have seen, have lost their remaining adherence to the rule of law under the US Constitution. This is a situation that we never hoped to see, the absolute failure of the checks and balances that were specifically laid out to prevent this nation from falling unto tyranny.
At this juncture, it falls upon our honorable state legislators to reclaim this democracy. It is their responsibility, as the representative voices of the people, to refute the tyrannical tendencies that have seeped into our governance and to re-establish a constitutional democracy under the US Constitution.
This is a petition to the state governors to call for special legislative session to address these issues. The petition is starting with the governors of California, Oregon, and Washington, but will add additional governors.
The same courage that led our founding fathers to break free from the chains of tyranny must ignite the hearts of our state legislators. It is this bravery we implore, this spirit we demand to uphold the Constitution. We urge state legislatures to vote to pass a declaration of independence and to initiate the formation of a new constitutional democracy dedicated to rule of law, justice, and the inherent rights of the people under the US Constitution.
