I am an avid animal lover and rescuer, and it is from this deep passion and commitment that I, along with my community, call upon Sheriff Grady Judd to increase the funds allocated to our local animal control for larger facilities and to support Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) efforts. Our local animal control division is a vital but undervalued part of our community's wellbeing. Despite their best efforts, they are struggling with limited resources due to insufficient funding. As a result, they operate in small facilities that cannot adequately house the growing number of animals in need. Furthermore, they are unable to effectively run the TNR programs that are critical in managing and caring for the flourishing feral cat populations humanely and effectively. By increasing funding for animal control, we can provide adequate shelters, improve care standards, and implement effective TNR programs that not only benefit the animals but also the wider community. As such, we are petitioning for a budget increase that reflects the value of these services.
