Urge RI Attorney General Peter F. Neronah to Support the 364 Day Bill (H5502, S063)

Urge RI Attorney General Peter F. Neronah to Support the 364 Day Bill (H5502, S063)
The Issue
Our communities in Rhode Island have flourished due to the invaluable contribution of immigrants, yet today, they are unjustifiably targeted and persecuted for minor offenses. The Immigration Coalition of RI and its nearly forty member organizations are deeply committed to the welfare of our immigrant communities. In the last few weeks, we have observed the fear and uncertainty they face under the Trump administration.
The 364-Day Bill (H5502, S063) offers protection in these trying times. It seeks to redefine the legal terms, such as 'felony,' 'misdemeanor,' and 'petty misdemeanor,' ensuring immigrants are not subjected to deportation for minor infractions.
Our plea today is simple: we call on Attorney General Peter F. Neronah to stand up for justice. To ensure that the spirit of the law reflects the character of the people it serves. To uphold our values of fairness by supporting and enforcing the 364 Day Bill. This is our chance to defend those who contribute so much to our communities and demonstrate that we stand by our friends and neighbors in Rhode Island.
Please help us make a difference -sign this petition today to urge RI Attorney General Peter F. Neronah to support the 364-Day Bill for the sake of our immigrant community.
