The Issue

On October 7th, 2023 As the Jewish festival of Sukkot was ending, a full-fledged and horrifically violent attack was perpetrated by Hamas terrorists against Israeli civilians. This “war” is being waged, not on military personnel, but women, children, young people, and families just like yours and mine. As these genocidal attacks continued, with bodies of innocents still strewn in street, and Israeli hostages being brutally murdered, Missouri Rep Cori Bush publicly advocated for the removal of all military funding to Israel... To truly value the principles of human rights, we are compelled to address Bush’s statements.

A self-proclaimed social justice advocate, Bush used her voice to condemn a people at their most vulnerable. Instead of cutting support to people while they’re being systematically murdered in their homes and  streets, Bush must unequivocally condemn the genocidal attacks perpetrated by Hamas. There can be no excuse for the intentional and calculated murder of innocent civilians. These are the crimes of a radical minority. Hamas is not Palestine and to condemn Hamas in no way condemns Palestinians. All forms of hate have no place in modern society. Recent numbers suggest that 1,300 Israeli civilians (targets) and 1,900 Palestinian civilians (used as human shields by Hamas) have already died with thousands more injured. These numbers will continue to climb until we unite against hate, terrorism, and genocide.

By condemning Hamas specifically and publicly, Cori Bush can help bring attention to this crisis. By speaking out against hate, in all its forms, we create a more safe, just, and equitable society for our Jewish neighbors and ourselves. Let us unite in our call for Missouri Rep Cori Bush to take a stance against Hamas and their attempted war of genocide. Please sign this petition today!
