President Joko Widodo has the power to end this atrocity in his country. We implore him to enact legislation that will outlaw the dog meat trade across Indonesia and set an example for other nations.

We must also educate others about this issue. Many people remain unaware of the horrific conditions these animals endure or believe misconceptions that perpetuate this cruel practice.
