President Joe Biden, our current leader who has made significant strides in office, must consider stepping down as the Democratic Presidential nominee for the upcoming 2024 election. Many of us believe that the current state of affairs might jeopardize the chances of the Democratic party to win against a potential candidate like Donald Trump.

We are not advocating for a convicted criminal such as Trump to be in the office; rather, we are proposing a change in leadership within our own party to boost our chances in the forthcoming elections. This does not undermine Biden's accomplishments; it simply acknowledges the need for fresh perspectives and approaches in light of present circumstances.

According to recent polls, Biden's approval ratings are not at their best, raising concerns about the prospects for the next election (source: recent National polls). A change in the nominee for the Democratic Party could potentially invigorate the party and increase the chances of victory against opposition. 

As it stands now he is facing extreme criticism, and rightfully so in many instances. President Biden is no longer representing us as citizens. He is facing criticism of age and inaction. I have had many discussions with my peers of varying identities, religions, race, and age. Of these discussions we have agreed, we do not want President Biden and we do not want former President Trump. Many have equated this to a choice between two "evils". As a young girl going into college, I do not want this for my future. The sentiment of disillusionment and frustration with the current political landscape is palpable among young people like myself. It is clear that there is a growing desire for a leader who can truly embody the values and aspirations of the diverse population that this country is made up of.

We are citizens of this nation, and we are speaking out with respect for our democratic process and the best interests of our country, and fellow peers at heart.
