Urge PM Modi to address the ongoing Communal Violence Against Muslims

Urge PM Modi to address the ongoing Communal Violence Against Muslims
The Issue
In the last few months, India has seen a surge in violence against the Muslim population. From banning Hijab in educational institutions to desecrating religious institutions of Muslims and burning down Muslim-run businesses, the news of communal violence perpetrated gets more menacing by the day.
The visuals of these on the news and social media are chilling. From Karnataka to Delhi, Jharkhand to Rajasthan and Gujarat to Mumbai, popular public figures across India speak with impunity about ethnic cleansing as reported by various credible news outlets. Ironically, many of their crimes are being carried out during religious events.
The sloganeering of mobs mingled with provocative hate speeches is met with devastating silence from the average Indian and elected members of government. These wars are being carried out in the name of Hindus, and it is high time that the non-partisan, secular, liberal Hindus demand an end to this fear- and hate-mongering.
Moreover, we look to the highest office, the revered office of the Prime Minister to appeal for peace and calm at best, or address communal violence in a public speech at the very least. Sign my petition.
Join me in requesting our Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, to speak on the communal violence spreading across India, and appeal to people to stop fighting in the name of Hinduism in his next address to the Nation or during the next Mann ki Baat.
Every member of the government has taken an oath to uphold our Constitution, which cherishes values like secularism, democracy, equality, liberty, fraternity and justice. I hope that many of you who still believe in this India envisioned by Babasaheb will support this campaign and ensure that this reaches our Prime Minister.
