Hi Everyone,
Your continued support has been greatly empowering to us! We are aware of the memo sent out by Mahesh Sadarangani to all stores, and the lack of care and understanding displayed in the memo. We are upset by the inaction and failure to recognize the passion displayed by our customers. We want our community members to know, we hear you and we see you. We thought customer involvement would be beneficial to show corporate how widespread our outrage is. We are just as disappointed in Philz lack of urgency and inaction after seeing the petition. We understand your collective frustration, and trust us, we feel it too. We feel as though the best course of action now is to contact Philz Management with your comments and concerns, if you feel so inclined.
To our fellow baristas, we know times are tough right now, but pride at philz doesn’t stop just because Mahesh decides it. There are other ways to protect and project your pride on the clock. We encourage you to decorate your name plates with pride flags, wear pins that represent you and your community , or wear queer centered clothing. Baristas are the backbone of Philz, remember that we are the ones representing Phil and Jacob’s original mission; to keep it real, and come as we are. Philz is not the same without year round pride.
