The personal experiences that exposed me to the heart-wrenching realities of animal neglect and abandonment have instigated this petition. Day by day, we witness a rising number of innocent animals being maltreated, neglected, and abandoned by people who should be their caregivers. Animal shelters, amidst this cruel and overwhelming situation, can barely cope due to limited capacity.

In Philadelphia alone, almost 18,000 animals are admitted annually to shelters, and far too many of them are euthanized due to a lack of space (source: Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society). With every hour that passes by, these helpless souls are in danger. Shelters are critically overcrowded and they scramble to provide much-needed care for these animals. Yet, their efforts and empathy are often stalled by the sheer lack of space and accommodating infrastructure.

Governor, the demand for a larger animal shelter in Philadelphia is painfully clear and urgent. By sponsoring the construction of a bigger shelter, we can provide a safe haven for these animals, significantly lowering euthanasia rates and offering them a better chance at finding their forever homes. As the state's leading figure, your authorization has the power to affect this impactful change.

Permit funding for expanding animal shelter infrastructure. Our city and our animals urgently need it. Please consider the lives at stake and utilize your power to initiate a change that would eternally reverberate throughout the State of Philadelphia. I urge everyone who has the will and heart for our innocent furry friends to sign this petition. With joint effort and your signatures, we can save lives. Your signature could mean a life saved - a life that deserves care, love, and respect. Let's be the voice for these innocent lives. Sign this petition and help bring this vital issue before our Governor's eyes. And as always....ADOPT DONT SHOP! And if you can please foster and get these amazing animals into a loving home
