Urge Peel District School Board to complete Red Cedar PS building

Urge Peel District School Board to complete Red Cedar PS building
The Issue
Parents in Brampton, ON, are frustrated due to the continuous delay in completing Red Cedar Public School. The 2019-2020 City planning document promised that the school would be ready to open its doors by September 2022. It is now well beyond that date, and families in the community are left grappling with the repercussions of this delay.
This delay doesn't just inconvenience our schedules; it disrupts the very fabric of our daily lives. The recent letter from PDSB with the contingency plan details indicated that families with multiple children in different grades will need to enroll their kids in two different schools. This is a logistical nightmare that parents have to contend with every morning, creating undue stress and anxiety.
A stable and local education environment was something our community was promised. The absence of this school forces children to travel longer distances, which is neither safe nor conducive to building a strong educational foundation close to home. It also deprives them of the opportunity to develop relationships with other local kids in their neighbourhood.
The delay undermines the community's confidence in the PDSB's ability to deliver on its commitments. We demand that the School Board prioritize completing the construction work immediately and ensure the school is ready for the September 2025 intake for all grades. It’s vital that the school board addresses these concerns without further delay to restore the trust and support of this resilient community.
Every signature on this petition adds weight to our call for action. Please stand with us to demand accountability and transparency. Let's compel PDSB to fulfill its duty towards its students. Please sign this petition to urge the Board to expedite the construction and completion of Red Cedar Public School.
