We, the residents of Amenia, NY, are deeply concerned about the safety of our community members due to frequent car and pedestrian accidents at the RT22/RT44 intersection. Over the years, this location has been a hotspot for collisions primarily caused by vehicles attempting left-hand turns while traveling either north or south on RT22.

We believe that a comprehensive traffic study and safety analysis conducted by New York State Department of Transportation (NYS DOT) could help identify effective solutions to mitigate these risks. This might include implementing turning lanes or advanced turn signals.
