Urge Novi City Council to Adopt a Ceasefire Resolution Now

The Issue

The ongoing humanitarian crisis in occupied Palestinian land is devastating. In 140 days of war, more than 35,000 people have been killed including over 60% who were children and mothers. After massive destruction in Gaza, the war has moved to Rafah where survivors from Gaza took shelter. Almost all hospitals are destroyed, schools and places of worship bombed to destruction while false propaganda circulated in media has been exposed.

We must stand with Detroit, Ann Arbor, Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, and Hamtramck in seeking an immediate and lasting ceasefire in these regions. We call for the release of hostages and political prisoners as well as the unobstructed delivery of humanitarian aid.

Across our nation people are voicing their demand for peace through calls, letters, sit-ins and protests. It is time that we add our voice to this collective call for justice by urging Novi City Council to adopt a Ceasefire Now resolution.

The cost of silence is too high; it's measured in human lives lost daily due to violence that could be prevented by diplomatic efforts towards peace. During the Presidential Primary on Feb. 27th, 2024, Novi residents demonstrated their support for an immediate ceasefire and ending the ongoing genocide by joining statewide campaign to vote "Uncommitted" at levels higher than the state average.  Let us make sure that Novi does not remain silent but instead becomes part of the solution towards achieving lasting peace.
