Urge Nicolette Bell to Drop the Assault Charge Against Jenny Cullinan

Urge Nicolette Bell to Drop the Assault Charge Against Jenny Cullinan

The Issue

This petition is aimed at appealing to Nicolette Bell, the Western Cape Director of Public Prosecutions, to drop the charge of common assault against Jenny Cullinan.

This spurious counter-charge was laid by Neel Ramlall, the co-owner of two Shell Garages in Cape Town, after Jenny laid an assault charge against him 31 July 2021 for a vicious attack that left her requiring stitches in her head and dental repair.

After a two-year trial, Ramlall was convicted of assaulting Jenny on 30 August 2023 – but received a mere R1,200 fine and was allowed to keep his firearm.

Jenny is due to appear in court on 12 April 2024 although there is no evidence to support Ramlall's charge and HE has been found guilty of assaulting her.
