With the release of the Mortal Kombat 1: Definitive Edition, it appears that NetherRealm Studios may be nearing the end of official content development for MK1. While the game has delivered memorable characters, stunning visuals, and dynamic gameplay, the community sees this moment as an opportunity, not the end.

We respectfully urge NetherRealm to release an official modding SDK (Software Development Kit) for Mortal Kombat 1.

Why This Matters:
-The MK1 Modding Community is Thriving: Even without official tools, talented fans have already begun enhancing the game, creating new skins, effects, and character tweaks.
-Extend the Life of MK1: Official modding support would allow the game to live on through community creativity, much like Skyrim, Garry's Mod, or Left 4 Dead 2.
-Goodwill from the Fanbase: Many players were disappointed at the possibility of no more new content. Supporting modding would turn that disappointment into enthusiasm and renewed engagement.
-Preserve and Evolve: A modding SDK would help preserve MK1’s legacy and allow it to evolve organically through fan innovation, unlocking endless potential for custom stories, characters, stages, and even mechanics.

We believe MK1 has the potential to become a timeless, ever-evolving entry in the Mortal Kombat franchise, if the community is empowered to carry the torch.
