Urge National Olympic Houses to host Pride House celebrations during the 2014 Sochi Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games

Urge National Olympic Houses to host Pride House celebrations during the 2014 Sochi Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games
The Issue
In March 2013, a petition to hold a Pride House at the 2014 Sochi Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games was denied by the Russian Ministry of Justice, a ban that was further upheld by Judge Svetlana Mordovina on the basis that a Pride House would incite "propaganda of non-traditional sexual orientation which can undermine the security of the Russian society and the state, provoke social-religious hatred, which is the feature of the extremist character of the activity."
Now, Pride House International is inviting the National Olympic Houses to host their own Pride House celebrations during the Games. We are asking the NOCs to take advantage of Principle 6 of the Olympic Charter, which reads: "Any form of discrimination with regard to a country or a person on grounds of race, religion, politics, gender or otherwise is incompatible with belonging to the Olympic Movement.”
By signing this petition, you are joining with us in calling on the National Olympic Houses to support LGBT inclusion during the 2014 Sochi Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
If you would like to send your own letter, in addition to signing this petition, you can find the contact information here National Olympic Committees <click here for list of offices>
Please say YES to a Pride House Celebration in your National House and celebrate your diversity and inclusive nature.
Together we can make a difference and stand up for diversity and inclusion for all Human Rights. For more information visit pridehouseInternational.org
