As a Raleigh native, the N.C. State Fair has always held a special place in my heart, particularly the beloved "Restaurant Row". This iconic part of our fair has been serving up memorable dishes from the “Pie-Guy” to sweet potato biscuits for over 40 years now. Yet, it is with profound disappointment that we have learned of its planned removal.

"Restaurant Row" is more than just food vendors; it's a piece of Raleigh's history and tradition that brings joy and unity to our community every year during the fair season. Its removal not only affects local businesses but also strips away an integral part of what makes our state fair unique and cherished.

We understand that change is inevitable but believe that preserving some traditions, like "Restaurant Row", adds value rather than detracts from it. We are not against progress or modernization; however, we firmly believe in maintaining elements that make us who we are as a community.

Therefore, we urge the N.C. State Fair Commissioner to reconsider their decision on removing "Restaurant Row". Let's keep this Raleigh tradition alive for future generations to enjoy at our beloved state fair.
