As deeply concerned members of the Jewish and Israeli community, we are calling on Morristown Beard School (MBS) in New Jersey, USA, to take a stronger stance on the ongoing conflict in Israel. The current situation is gravely personal for many of us. We have friends, family, and loved ones living amidst the turmoil in Israel. The last time this many Jewish people were killed in a single day was during the Holocaust - an alarming comparison that underscores the severity of this crisis.

The public response from MBS administration so far has been disappointing to say the least. Our school should be an institution that stands up for justice and peace; it should support its students who are directly or indirectly affected by global events.

We request MBS to fulfill its personal responsibility by publicly supporting Israel's right to defend itself against attacks from Hamas - an organization recognized as a terrorist group by several countries including US (source: US Department of State). We also urge MBS to condemn any form of violence perpetrated by Hamas that has led to hundreds of innocent lives lost.

By doing so, MBS will not only stand with its Jewish community but also uphold values such as peace, justice and respect for human rights which are fundamental tenets upon which our great nation was built.
