We are calling on Molson Coors Brewing Company to transfer ownership of Sharp's Brewery and its associated assets in Rock, Cornwall, back to the local workforce, or alternatively, to Bill Sharp or his family. This heartfelt appeal is grounded in the belief that the identity and legacy of Sharp's beers belong to Cornwall, and should remain under local stewardship.

For many years, Sharp's Brewery has been a cornerstone of the Cornish community, celebrated for its craft beers and the employment it provides to the local population. However, since the 2011 acquisition by Molson Coors, concerns have mounted over the potential relocation of operations, which would not only threaten jobs but also strip the community of its proud brewing heritage.

We propose a two-fold solution: first, that Molson Coors gifts all tangible assets of Sharp's Brewery directly to its current workforce in Rock, allowing the employees who know and love the brand to maintain its operation and integrity; alternatively, consideration could be given to returning the brewery to its founder, Bill Sharp, or his descendants. This transition would ensure that the brewery remains in Cornish hands and continues to support local employment and craftsmanship.

We support Molson Coors in their commercial decision to focus instead on expanding their operations in the Midlands, where they can develop their own range of cask ales and other beverages, without undermining the authentic brand rooted in Cornwall.
