Urge Marvel Studios to cast Famke Janssen in Doomsday

The Issue

It deeply saddens me to witness the pervasive ageism and sexism that persists in Hollywood.

Famke Janssen has brought to life awe-inspiring characters with strength and grace, most notably reinventing Jean Grey for a modern audience in the X-Men series. Her significant contributions to the superhero genre make her a deserving candidate for further inclusion in new projects, like Marvel's upcoming film, Doomsday. Nevertheless, it appears that her abilities are being overlooked.

Recognizing that Marvel Studios holds substantial influence within the entertainment industry, they have the unique power to challenge and reshape harmful industry norms. Marvel has casted other actors from previous films that show visible signs of aging. (Patrick Stewart, James Marsden, Ian Mckellen, Hugh Jackman) all men. It seems that the excuse stems from the fact that she had cosmetic surgery done. It has since been obviously reversed. Even if she still had cosmetic surgery it should not matter. This decision would not only honor a talented actress but also transition the narrative towards inclusivity and respect for seasoned artists, enriching the film with depth and experience.

We must stand united against discrimination in all forms and encourage companies with vast reach, such as Marvel, to lead by example. Famke Janssen’s inclusion in Doomsday would set a precedent, advocating for equality and fairness in cinematic casting processes.

Join me in showcasing our support for Famke Janssen and urging Marvel Studios to consider her rightful place in their cinematic universe, ESPECIALLY since this is the last movie with the original cast.
