Madison County Deserves Better: Let's Find an Alternative to Integra Water
I'm tired of having no real choice when it comes to sewer service. And I know I'm not the only one.

We pay our bills, we maintain our homes, and we do our part. Yet when it comes to something as essential as wastewater service, we're left depending on a private company we can't simply choose to leave.

I don't believe Madison County residents should have to accept that without questioning whether there's a better option.

We've watched the cost of living rise while trying to keep up with mortgages, groceries, insurance, and utilities. Every bill matters. And when sewer charges increase, we deserve transparency about what we're paying for and who is holding our provider accountable.

I'm not interested in complaining about Integra Water forever. I want us to do something about it.

Madison County has public utilities and established infrastructure. Instead of assuming we're stuck with Integra indefinitely, I want our local leaders to seriously investigate whether a publicly accountable provider could take over or operate the sewer systems serving our neighborhoods.

Could another provider offer better prices? Better service? More accountability?

We won't know until someone actually investigates it.

That's why this petition calls on the Madison County Commission, working with appropriate local and state authorities, to commission and publicly release an independent feasibility study examining alternatives to Integra Water.

That investigation needs to answer three questions:

Can we replace Integra? Identify existing public utilities or other accountable providers that could legally and practically serve our neighborhoods, including potential acquisition, transfer, or operating agreements.
Would it actually save us money? Compare full residential sewer bills, hidden or additional fees, infrastructure needs, financing, maintenance, and long-term operating costs.
Would we have more accountability? Determine which options offer transparent rates, reliable service, stronger protections, and a meaningful voice for residents.
The study should also examine whether stronger regulation of Integra could deliver meaningful improvements without replacing the operator.

I'm not asking our county to blindly spend taxpayer money or rush into a takeover. I'm asking for an honest investigation, real numbers, and a public discussion about our options.

We deserve more than being told this is just how things are.

If you're tired of feeling like you have no say in an essential service, join me.

Sign this petition. Let's find out what it would take to give Madison County a better option than Integra Water.
