The Issue
As a dedicated employee at Macy's, I have had the chance to witness and partake in our company's growth and diversification strategies. From the incorporation of Toys R Us into our stores, the introduction of Disney merchandise to designing unique promotional activities, Macy's Inc. has done it all. However, I believe there's one potential opportunity we've yet to fully explore – the magic of a strategic partnership with Disney.
Despite generating significant revenue from Black Friday and other sales, the lion's share of our earnings go towards maintaining basic infrastructure, such as elevators, leaving little room for improving employee working conditions or job security. Additionally, the allotted hours that we, as employees, are able to work during the week are minimal, contributing to financial instability for many of us.
Since Macy's brought in Toys R Us, we have opened up our inventories to Disney merchandise, which has been well received. This positive customer response underlines the potential of a robust partnership with Disney, one that can potentially bring in exemplary publicity for our dear department store.
From offering discounted park tickets to arranging character meet and greets in our stores (with a successful precedent set by our engaging meet-ups with Geoffrey The Giraffe), such a partnership could bolster our market position and improve the overall customer experience. Not forgetting potential sweepstakes to win a free trip to Disney parks, it provides experiences that can be cherished by our customers.
And we could also have the Disney characters and princesses in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade - which I have participated in.
But for that, we require your support.
