Hello Supporters,

We're only 12 days into the new year and I have some good and tragic news to report. First, I want to thank you all for your continued support. We have reached over 500 Clark County signatures and local organizations have also included actions specifically for the City of Henderson! More on that later.

First, I want to recognize some of what has happened since my last update. A day after the 1 year anniversary of the MAGA insurrection, legal observer Renee Nicole Good was shot 3 times by ICE agent Jonathan Ross, after he stepped in front of her vehicle while she was trying to drive away. His colleagues denied aid from others present, as she lay dying and Ross appeared to flee the scene.

Tragically, her assassination is being spun as an act of "self defense" from a "terrorist" threat, according to the DOJ and DHS's Kristi Noem. To make matters worse, when Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley moved to subpoena all records and footage related to Good's murder, EVERY Republican voted against it! Now the FBI is blocking Minnesota officials from conducting their own investigation.

In response, over 1000 protests and vigils have erupted across the country, this weekend, to honor Good's life, advocate for Ross to face accountability and for ICE to be abolished. Legislators are also calling for Noem's resignation and impeachment, while human rights organizations continue to fight for justice in other reports of ICE killings and abuse. These alarming cases include torture, withholding of medical treatment and sexual assault of children in detention centers.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! While Nevada may be not be in the news, Las Vegas, Reno and our other cities are not exempt from ICE detainments and illegal abductions. Local groups like Indivisible, Handmaids of LV, 50501, PSL and others have hosted events to bring awareness to these injustices. In December, the Nevada Immigrant Coalition hosted a vigil at the Henderson detention facility for those separated from their families during the holidays, and continue to educate the public about their rights, mutual aid resources and family preparedness.
