I am a resident of Tanjong Pagar, Singapore. This petition is deeply personal to me because my elderly neighbors depend on the bus services 75 and 167 for their transportation needs. It was announced recently from 10 Dec 2023, bus services 75 and 167 will have their routes shortened and will no longer service the communities in Outram Park, Shenton Way, and Marina Centre.

These bus routes are not just lines on a map; they are lifelines for many residents here - from young professionals commuting daily to work to elderly folks who need these buses to reach SGH medical centre for their health check-ups. The discontinuation and shortening of the routes served by these two services will cause significant inconvenience and distress among the residents.

We understand that decisions about bus routes involve considerations about efficiency and usage rates. However, we believe that public transportation should also be inclusive - taking into account the needs of all segments of society including those who may not have alternative means of travel.

We urge LTA to reconsider its decision and reinstate bus service 167 and resume the current route of bus service 75 after 10 Dec 2023.
