The rich diversity of Melbourne's western suburbs defines the local community.

Neighbourhoods in the west are home to migrant and refugee communities from various cultures and faiths who have found a safe haven in these suburbs.

However, this peace is being threatened by neo-Nazis connected to the Legacy Boxing Gym in Sunshine West, who have held demonstrations calling for migration to be stopped.

The presence of these neo-Nazis poses a direct threat to our diverse and anti-racist culture and make people feel unsafe to visit the western suburbs. 

They disrupt our peaceful coexistence and promote ideologies that go against everything we stand for as a multi-faith and multicultural community.

Sunshine West is currently facing an alarming rise in such extremist activities led by neo-Nazis connected to the Legacy Boxing Gym. 

It's time we take action against this growing menace before it further escalates.

We need LeadWest, Western Melbourne’s regional advocacy alliance, to advocate on our behalf to local members of the Victorian Parliament, calling on them to take appropriate action to address this issue, including urgently implementing the recommendations of the Legislative Assembly Legal and Social Issues Inquiry into Anti-Vilification Protections.

We urge LeadWest to not only condemn these actions but also work towards evicting these harmful elements from Sunshine West.

By doing so, they will protect our diverse community from hate speech and potential violence while promoting unity among all residents.

Let us stand together in ensuring that Sunshine West remains a safe space for everyone regardless of their race or religion.
