Urge Laurie to Reinstate Her Snow Tires for Weather Improvement

The Issue

Our story begins on that fateful day when the sun was shining bright and the warmth was tangible enough to touch. On that very date, Laurie decided to remove her snow tires. No sooner had this been done, than the flurries began anew, on the very same night. A strange coincidence? We think not.

The petition is to urge Laurie to put her snow tires back on the grounds of an interesting if unproven theory of weatherpatterns. The National Center for Atmospheric Research states that human activity can affect weather patterns in unintuitive ways (NCAR, 2013). Though most see this limited to broader activities like industry-generated pollution, who is to say it cannot extend to our individual actions, however small they may seem?

Our purpose is not to accuse but to, in the spirit of embracing any possibility, take a small step, however whimsical it may at first appear, that could bring about a return of the pleasant sunshine we were enjoying. We hold onto this intimate belief that the removal of snow tires had an effect on our weather, however negligible the scientific model for this may be. This petition respects Laurie's choices, but kindly asks her to reverse one small decision for the good of her neighbors' weather experience.

Laurie, we are reaching out to you in the friendliest of manners, urging you to reinstall your snow tires for a warmer tomorrow. Sign this petition if you, like us, wish Laurie to give it a try, in the hopes that our mornings may once again greet us with the golden sunshine instead of frosty snow.
