Urge L.A. Mayor & Councilmember Park to Extend Restricted Access to Pacific Palisades

The Issue

Pacific Palisades remains fragile, with many residents still grappling with the aftermath of recent and horrific disruptions.

While decisions are being made largely without community input to lift the current restricted access, we firmly believe that doing so offers no tangible benefit to residents and would only place an unnecessary burden on a community that has not even begun to recover.

Our position is clear: Resources should be prioritized toward restoring and supporting the viability of our community, not facilitating access for non-residents, social media visitors, or spectators. The time for open access will come—but now is not that time.

We urge the Mayor of Los Angeles and Councilmember Traci Park to maintain restricted access to Pacific Palisades for the foreseeable future.

Access should be limited to verified residents, business owners, and essential employees who have a direct stake in the community’s recovery. Opening roads indiscriminately is neither in the government’s interest nor the best interest of a community still struggling to regain stability.

This request is not about exclusivity—it is about preserving the safety and stability of a community barely holding on without electricity, phone, or home alarm services.

We acknowledge the need for flexibility and propose revisiting this policy every five days or as reasonably necessary to assess conditions and determine the appropriate course of action.

We ask for your support in keeping Pacific Palisades protected while we continue to ascertain the damage and the most appropriate path forward.
