On the evening of October 25, 2025, our community was shattered by a devastating tragedy. We lost a cherished member, Cameron Dangerfield, a kind-hearted, hard-working, and respectful individual, due to the reckless actions of Josue Gutierrez Garcia. Cameron's life was abruptly cut short at 8:32 pm when Josue, under the influence, decided to drive on the wrong side of the freeway. This senseless act of negligence has left a void in our hearts and a community in grief.

Josue Gutierrez Garcia's repeated history of driving under the influence and his apparent lack of remorse highlight a disturbing pattern of behavior that poses a severe threat to public safety. Despite this, he currently faces charges of vehicular manslaughter, which carry a maximum sentence of just 6 years. This punishment does not equate to the severity of his actions nor address the profound loss suffered by Cameron's family and friends.

It's imperative that the charges against Josue Gutierrez Garcia be re-evaluated to reflect the gravity of his crime. We call upon the Kings County District Attorney to pursue 2nd degree murder charges.
