Urge Irish Supermarkets to boycott and permanently remove Israeli products from shelves
The Issue
I condemn the horrific attacks on civilians in Israel on 7th October and the taking of hostages. However I also utterly condemn and am deeply horrified and distressed at the collective punishment and bombing of innocent Palestinian people, including children and babies, by the Israeli government in retaliation for brutal crimes commtted by Hamas. The Israeli government are bombing Palestinian civilians, withholding their water, electricity and food. The Israeli government and military are blatantly preventing and hampering the entry of humanitarian aid which is all against International law.
As of 29th October, there are over 8,000 Palestinian civilians dead which includes over 3,300 innocent children and babies. Palestinian Children are suffering. Many of those civilians who survive Israeli bombing incidents are severely injured or horrifically mutilated by bombs, including innocent children. Their Hospitals are beyond crisis point and can't cope. Many kids are now orphaned. Children in Gaza are now living in a state of fear and in a permanent state of PTSD. They need help, aid and an immediate humanitarian ceasefire.
I am moved to action. The failure of the Israeli government to comply with international law is a grave concern that cannot be ignored. This petition calls on all Irish supermarkets to take a stand against these injustices by boycotting and removing all Israeli products from their shelves.
I have found Israeli food products on display Irish supermarkets shelves this week in T***O and A**I supermarkets in Dublin (edit update.... A**I is still displaying Israeli products on Dublin supermarkets as of 28/10/23) . By removing Israeli products from our supermarket shelves, we can send a powerful message to the Israeli government that Ireland does not support these violations.
This petition is not about politics or taking sides; it's about human rights for Palestinians.
By signing this petition, you're taking a stand against such atrocities. You're saying that you care about human rights and international law. Let us urge our local supermarkets in Ireland to boycott and remove all Israeli goods from their shelves.
(Update 31st October) Initially this petitions intention was to see Israeli goods boycotted until there is a complete humanitarian ceasefire on Palestinians civilians and the full entry of International humanitarian aid agencies allowed into all parts of the Gaza strip.
However since then, the world has witnessed what can only be described as the Genocide of Palestinians by the Israeli government and military. Therefore this petition now calls on all Irish supermarkets to PERMANENTLY boycott and remove ALL Israeli products from Irish supermarkets. Consumers in Ireland do not want Israeli products in Irish supermarkets.
