Before the end of the year, a lame duck session of the state legislature in Illinois may take up civil unions legislation. Gov. Pat Quinn, recently re-elected in large part to LGBT voters, has vowed to sign the bill if it reaches his desk.

Let's send a message to the Illinois State House and State Senate that they should move forward on this legislation. It's wise for civil rights, it's wise to help stimulate the economy, and it would move Illinois in the right direction to make sure all citizens are on an equal playing field, no matter who they love.
