We, the undersigned players of the HoustonSSC softball league, submit this petition regarding recent fee increases and the use of non-standard play conditions.

Background
- The league recently raised player fees and added a new annual fee, payable once per year regardless of how many seasons a player joins.
- Following neighbor complaints at the Settegast Park field, the league now requires games at that location to be played with non-standard soft ("squishy") balls.
- Games at this field appear to be disproportionately assigned to lower-ranked teams.
- Players registered and paid for a standard slow pitch softball league. Non-standard equipment changes the game and is not what was offered at registration.

We request that the league:
1. Reach an agreement with the neighborhood that allows standard play at this field, or stop scheduling league games there.
2. Schedule all games at fields where standard, league-approved softballs can be used.
3. Distribute field assignments fairly across all teams, regardless of standings.
4. Provide players a clear accounting of how the fee increase and new annual fee are being used.

We pay to participate in this league. Every team is entitled to play standard softball.
