Like me, many striving students are finding it difficult to balance daytime work commitments with the pursuit of further education. At Henderson Community College, the limited number of night classes has become a barrier to educational advancement for students who are held back by daytime employment or responsibilities.

Statistically speaking, according to the National Center for Education Statistics, nearly 40% of undergraduates in the U.S. work more than 30 hours a week. These students, like myself, not only seek to better themselves through education, but also bear the responsibility of day jobs that often conflict with daytime course schedules.

The inclusion of an additional night class at Henderson Community College would not merely benefit working students. It would expedite course completion, maintain higher enrollment rates, and foster a greater diversity of students. These improvements align with the core values of our community college, which should promote accessible and flexible learning opportunities for all.
