Like many of you, I have found joy and inspiration in HBO's "Julia" -- the delightful show inspired by the life of Julia Child. This dramatized version of her life plays a role in keeping alive the spirit of Julia Child who revolutionized home cooking and made French cuisine approachable for all Americans regardless of their culinary background. But this series is so much more than its confections (which are amazing and the fact that it's all real food made by Christine Tobin and her team makes it even more special).

One of the central themes of the show is tracking women's careers in the entertainment industry, highlighting Julia's, Alice's and Blanche's struggles and successes in a male-dominated industry. This show is an ode to women of all colors and shapes (and heights) and HBO's decision to cancel it feels like a shrug to all of that. If "Julia" has taught me anything it's that even a small voice - a whisper - can make a difference so, in the words of Sarah Lancashire's Julia, let's make some noise and urge HBO to reconsider their decision and continue with this beloved show which honors Child's legacy while providing top-notch performances and quality content that resonates with so many people.
