For the past five years, Ernest Mack Shell has been falsely portraying himself as a collaborator with law enforcement in the Summer Wells missing child case here in Hawkins County, Tennessee. As someone who cares deeply about the integrity of ongoing investigations and the safety of our community, I can no longer stand by as these deceptive actions continue to unfold.

Ernest Mack Shell frequently claims to have worked with law enforcement officers, training alongside them and gaining access to confidential information. These claims, propagated widely on his YouTube channel, are not only misleading but directly undermine the credibility of genuine efforts being made by our law enforcement agencies to resolve this tragic case. For the families involved, such as the Wells, these falsehoods add an additional layer of distress and confusion in an already unbearable situation.

Ernest Mack Shell has profited for years by scamming his followers for donations and membership to his YouTube channel all in the name of Summer Wells. He also is know to carry tactical gear normally wore by law enforcement, along with numerous fake badges.

The distraction caused by his actions not only hampers progress but also misleads the public and diverts valuable resources from the official investigation led by the Hawkins County Sheriff's Department. It is imperative that the law enforcement agencies take immediate action to prevent further interference and misinformation regarding the Summer Wells case.

Hawkins County Sheriff's Department & incoming sheriff  Scott Stewart needs to treat this matter with the urgency and seriousness it deserves. Arresting Ernest Mack Shell will not only cease his harmful behaviors but also send a clear message to others who seek to exploit tragic situations for personal gain.
