Urge Greenwood Middle School's Dean to Resign from his position.

Urge Greenwood Middle School's Dean to Resign from his position.
The Issue
My child was unjustly suspended from Greenwood Middle School for the courageous act of standing up for his best friend. This decision, spearheaded by the Student Dean, has not only disrupted my child's education but has also sent the wrong message to all students about the values of courage and friendship.
This isn't an isolated incident. Numerous parents have come forward, sharing stories of similar experiences with the current Student Dean, who seems to prioritize harsh discipline over understanding and student welfare. A middle school should be a place where children are encouraged to stand up for what's right, not punished for it.
According to data from the National Educational Policy Center, schools with a more understanding and flexible disciplinary approach see higher student engagement and lower truancy rates. Greenwood Middle School can benefit from leadership that aligns with these values.
Moreover, studies by the American Psychological Association highlight that punitive disciplinary actions often lead to increased behavioral issues. Instead, restorative practices create a supportive environment that fosters learning and personal growth.
It's clear that in order to create a nurturing environment at Greenwood Middle School, the current Student Dean must step down. His approach is incompatible with the positive, encouraging educational experience our children deserve.
Join me in asking the Greenwood Middle School administration to take immediate action. Our children need a school leader who exemplifies understanding and compassion. Sign this petition today to make a change for the betterment of all students at Greenwood Middle School.
