You will be glad to know that we have had some discussions with Council officers about the situation with the archive. We are sending to them some of the comments you have put on this petition.

The Royal Greenwich Heritage Trust  is due to present a paper about its future to a Council Scrutiny panel and we will report to you on that.

---------------------------------

We wondered if you would be interested in other things Greenwich Industrial History Society is doing.?

Next Tuesday – 12th  March starting at 19:15 for 19:30 UK time*. we have a  talk vin Zoom- by Dr Stella Butler “Charlton House Garden 1612-1925: plants, people and other places”.

That might not sound very industrial but – well let’s see, it must have been a sizeable workplace – and such big estate gardens must have involved technical innovation.

You must book your slot by sending an email to greenwichindustrial@gmail.com with the subject line “Charlton House GIHS talk” before 18:00 UK time on Tuesday 12 March.

We will send you Zoom log-in details shortly after 18:15 on Tuesday 12 March. (Don’t chase us; we have to wait until we have all the registrations.) ·      VERY IMPORTANT: Please don’t log in until 19:15. ·      If you don’t receive the link by 18:45, please check your spam folder – Zoom registration details often go there. ·      The talk starts at 19:30 on Tuesday 12 March. ·      You can ask questions via Zoom’s text chat function. ·      We will record the meeting and plan to put the recording on the NEW Greenwich Industrial History Society channel on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@GreenwichIndustrialHistorySoc
